Ed_MarkGalleries Open – New Exhibits on Display
Piedmont Arts • 215 Starling Ave
Fighting Physics and Retrospect + Revival is a joint exhibition features work by Virginia artists Ed Dolinger and Mark Shepheard. Though a symbiotic experience in created through similarities in style and content, each artist retains their own unique perspective: Dolinger’s “poetic puzzles” seek to calm chaos through the deconstruction of dense information, while Shepheard’s work acts as an interpretation of a story in three dimensions—incorporating painting and drawing with his love of creative writing. Dancing with Color by Audrey Caywood is also on display in the Lywnwood Artists Gallery.

Daily Grind

Songwriters Showcase
Daily Grind Coffee House & Cafe • 303 E Church St
From 7:30 − 8:30 pm, join Daily Grind for Songwriters Showcase, an open mic for original music hosted by Dean Smith of Woodall’s Music and Sound. No cover. All ages welcome. Each showcase also features a 10 − 15 minute talk by a local artist whose work will be on display.
